First Aid/CPR/AED for Lay Responder

The Tri-County Red Cross holds Health & Safety classes in First Aid, CPR, infant CPR, AED and more at our Plainfield office location as well as other locations throughout our chapter.  You can register online for these classes via the links below, or you can call (908) 756-6414 x14 to register for a class. CPR/AED-Adult - 4.5 Hours

This training teaches individuals how to recognize and care for breathing and cardiac emergencies in adults. It also familiarizes the participant with the use and safe operation of an Automated External Defibrillator for victims of cardiac arrest. CPR/AED Adult certification valid for one (1) year -- $45.00



Standard First Aid with CPR/AED-Adult - 7.5 Hours

This training teaches individuals how to recognize and care for breathing and cardiac emergencies in adults; how to identify and care for excessive bleeding, sudden illness and injuries. It also familiarizes the participant with the use and safe operation of an Automated External Defibrillator for victims of cardiac arrest. Standard First Aid certification valid for three (3) years; CPR/AED Adult valid for one (1) year -- $55.00



CPR/AED-Adult & Child and CPR-Infant - 6.5 Hours

This training teaches individuals in the skills necessary to recognize and provide basic care for life threatening respiratory or cardiac emergencies in adults, children, and infants. Individuals will also be trained to care for victims of sudden cardiac arrest using an automated external defibrillator (AED) until advanced medical personnel arrive and take over. CPR/AED Adult and Child plus CPR Infant $55.00



First Aid w/ CPR/AED-Adult & Child and CPR-Infant - 9.5 Hours

This training teaches individuals in the skills necessary to recognize and provide basic care for life threatening respiratory or cardiac emergencies in adults, children, and infants. Individuals will also be trained to care for victims of sudden cardiac arrest using an automated external defibrillator (AED) until advanced medical personnel arrive and take over. Standard First Aid valid for three (3) years, Adult CPR/AED certification valid for one (1) year; Child & Infant CPR valid for one (1) year $65.00



First Aid Basics - 3 Hours

This training teaches individuals how to recognize emergencies and care for a conscious and unconscious victim, how to identify and care for burns, excessive bleeding, sudden illness and injuries to muscles, bones and joints. Certification valid for three years. -- $35.00



CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer - 9 Hours

The purpose of this training is to teach professional rescuer (those with a duty to act and provide care) the skills needed to respond appropriately to breathing and cardiac emergencies, including the use of an automated external defibrillator for victims of sudden cardiac arrest. Training includes "Two Rescuer CPR" and the use of a resuscitation mask and bag valve mask. Certification valid for two years, unless you are a certified lifeguard (one year only). -- $75.00


Blood Borne Pathogens and First Aid - 6 Hours


certification valid for one (1) year -- $45.00


Primeros Auxilios con Resucitación Cardiopulmonar (RCP) y uso del Desfibrilador Externo Automático (DEA) para Adultos y Niños y RCP para Infantes - 9.5 Horas

Este entrenamiento en español enseña a las personas las prácticas necesarias para reconocer y proveer cuidado básico en momentos de emergencia respiratoria o cardiaca en adultos, niños e infantes.  Las personas también serán entrenadas para ayudar a las victimas con paro cardiaco utilizando el Desfibrilador externo automático (DEA) hasta que personal profesional llegue y se haga cargo.  La certificación de Primeros Auxilios básicos es válida por (3) años.  La de RCP y DEA para adultos es válida por (1) año.  La RCP para niños y bebés es válida por (1) año.  El curso para los tres certificados es de 9 horas y media y el costo es $65.



Dog and Cat First Aid - 4 Hours


Learn how to keep your pets healthy, and to care for them in an emergency. This is a class no pet owner should miss. -- $45.00



ATTENDANCE POLICY:


PROMPTNESS IS REQUIRED. Please arrive early to allow yourself time to park and find the training room.  Since you have to be present for the entire course to receive a certificate, the instructor will NOT admit you if you arrive late. 

LATE ARRIVALS ARE NOT ADMITTED. A REFUND WILL NOT BE ISSUED   

You will receive a refund, minus a $10 administrative fee if:

  • You cancel your registration a minimum of 3 BUSINESS days before the class date.
  • The course if filled at the time your registration is received.

If you fail to attend the course, your fee is considered a donation to the American Red Cross and will not be refunded.
If you are late to the course, your fee is considered a donation to the American Red Cross and will not be refunded and cannot be transferred towards another course.

If you have an illness or emergency, please notify the Health & Safety Office as soon as possible by calling (908) 756-6414 Ext. 14. If you call in the 24 hours before a course, and our office is closed, please leave a message with the After Hours Answering Service.

LOS QUE LLEGUEN TARDE NO SERÁN ADMITIDOS NI RECIBIRÁN REEMBOLSOS.

 

Podrás recibir reembolso, menos $10 por gastos administrativos, si:

  • Cancelas tu matriculación tres días, como mínimo, antes de la primera clase.
  • El curso no tiene plazas libres cuando recibimos tu matriculación

 

Si no asistes, el costo del curso es considerado como un donativo a la Cruz Roja Americana y no será devuelto.

Si llegas tarde, el costo del curso es considerado como un donativo a la Cruz Roja Americana, no será devuelto y no se podrá utilizar como pago para otro curso.

 

En caso de enfermedad o emergencia, por favor notifica la Oficina de Salud y Seguridad lo mas pronto posible llamando al (908) 756-6414, Ext. 14. Si llamas en las 24 horas antes del comienzo del curso, deja un mensaje en el Servicio de Respuesta Después de Jornada (After Hours Answering Service).
