Linden Council Proclamation 2009

Linden Mayor Richard J. Gerbounka presents the borough's "March is Red Cross Month" proclamation to Disaster Action Team Volunteer - and Linden resident - Molly Lenz, on March 17, 2009.

The fine folks at Grace Lutheran Church/St. Matthew's Lutheran Church for the Deaf were kind enough to host our "Be Red Cross Ready" presentation on Sunday, March 15th - and have it sign language interpreted for the deaf. This gave us the opportunity to reach a broader population with our disaster preparedness message - and to help make this community more aware of the services we can provide. The Red Cross has a TDD number for disasters, which is 800-526-1417 and a TDD number for donations, which is 800-220-4095.

We will be hosting this presentation again at Grace Lutheran on Tuesday, March 24th at 7:30pm. This presentation will be signed for the deaf as well. Grace Lutheran Church is located at 2222 Vauxhall Road in Union, NJ 07083. All are welcome!

The Borough of North Plainfield issued a proclamation declaring "March is Red Cross Month" on March 9th. Frank D'Amore of North Plainfield, a volunteer Disaster Action Team Leader for the Tri-County Red Cross accepted the proclamation from the mayor and council.
