When people in the Tri-County Red Cross chapter area need our help, we are there for them every time.   Our staff and volunteers are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year.

When a family of three from Plainfield is forced from their home by an electrical fire, our volunteer Disaster Action Teams arrange for hotel rooms, food and clothing. When a grandmother from Hillside needs a ride to her doctor, our drivers are there. When a soldier from Elizabeth serving in Afghanistan is about to be a father, our staff works with the military services to bring him home for the birth.

We're there when we are needed, and now we're asking you and your business to be there with us as part of our Day of Red Cross corporate program.

More than 85 percent of Tri-County Red Cross services are funded by gifts and donations from people like you and businesses like yours. We rely on the community to step up and support our mission to prepare our chapter for disasters, and to respond when they occur.

We deliver our services as inexpensively aspossible. Most of our jobs are filled by volunteers, and our expenses are extremely low. But there is still a cost to running a Red Cross chapter that serves more than 500,000 people in three counties.

Averaged annually, that cost of a Day of Red Cross services is just a little more than $5,000 per business day.

Your Day of Red Cross gift of $5,000 will help the Tri- County Red Cross provide an average day of services. You can pick the date you want to gift, and we will work with you to promote the partnership and deliver the emergency disaster services our communities need.

What The Tri-County Red Cross Does In A Day

Here is what the Tri-County Red Cross provides for its constituents on an average day:

• Hotel rooms, three square meals and clothing for a family of three displaced from their home by a fire or flood;
• Rides for 30 seniors & other residents to the doctor at low-or nocost;
• Help for a soldier to return home from overseas for emergency family leave;
• Training for 22 residents in First Aid/CPR;
• Instruction for 10 participants in lifeguarding/water safety;
• Information on disaster and terrorism preparedness for 14 adults;
• Disaster response classes for 10 students;
• Four pints of blood for surgery, transfusion and accident victims.
• And much, much more.

What Your Business Gets For A Day of Red Cross

Our goal is not just to raise the money we need to prepare for and respond to disasters in our chapter area, but also to help you promote your business' support of the Tri- County Red Cross. Here's what we'll do to market our partnership:

• Present a Day of Red Cross photo plaque for your business;
• Send out a press release each month highlighting the companies whose Day of Red Cross falls in that month;
• Run an annual full page newspaper ad highlighting the companies who gave a gift of a Day of Red Cross;
• Put a prominent logo/link on our home page, and a year 'round link on the Day of Red Cross page;
• Place your logo on a Red Cross vehicle for a year. Our vehicles make more than 10,000 trips annually.

We will also work with your marketing team to market our partnership in support of your business. We'll work together to do good for our community and your business.
