The Tri-County Red Cross responded to a multi-house fire on Marshall Street in Elizabeth early this morning. Volunteers Terri Esposito and Joe Czarnecki were called out at 4 a.m. to the fire to assist at least one family, with the possibility that the fire would spread beyond the two homes already being consumed.
They provided hotel rooms, and money to purchase two changes of clothing and a week of food to Nester Saliva's family, including his wife and two children. The Tri-County Red Cross Disaster Action Team will follow up with the family to determine what other support is necessary, and facilitate contact with other organizations and governmental resources that can help.
To help replenish the Disaster Fund to care for other families, please consider making a $10 or greater donation today.
