American Red Cross on Standby for Airplane Accident in Hudson River

| | Comments (0)  |
US Airways flight 1549 originating from LaGuardia going to Charlotte, N.C. crashed in the Hudson River today at 3:26pm.  American Red Cross chapters from across NJ and NY have been activated to provide mass care, disaster mental health, medical and other assistance.

The Tri-County Chapter has dispatched staff to the Red Cross Disaster Operation Center and also sent a Disaster Mental Health Volunteer to be part of the team at a local hospital in New Jersey. If you have family that was traveling on that flight, the airlines has established a family hotline number of 800-679-8215.

MSNBC has a video of the accident.
